History of the Company
The company Giga was established on 16 January 1991. The prospectus of the company was the production of electric wire rope hoists of our own design, with a lifting capacity from 250 up to 20,000 kg, and of bridge cranes.
In April 1993, the legal form of the company was changed to a limited liability company (Ltd). In the same year, the company GIGA registered a trademark for the company’s name "GIGA®" at the Industrial Property Office in Prague.
In July 1999, the company GIGA started operations in its new production shop with an administrative building in Příšovice, which were built on a green field. The demand for the products of the company GIGA was so strong that after only two years of the new production premises operation, their capacity was insufficient and an annex building, including offices, to the production shop had to be constructed in 2002. In 2002, the first new range of the rope hoists, the GHM type, up to the lifting capacity of 5,000 kg was introduced to the market, and the company GIGA obtained a quality certificate according to ISO 9001:2000.

In 2003, technology renovation was started and the first new machine tool, the WH10 CNC boring and milling machine, was purchased. In 2003, another new range of rope tackles, the GHM type, up to the carrying capacity of 12,500 kg was also introduced to the market.
In 2005, we introduced yet another new range, the third in sequence, of rope hoists, the GHM type, up to the carrying capacity of 25,000 kg, which will be soon extended up to the carrying capacity of 50,000 kg. In 2006-2007, we were going on in renewing of the technology equipment, and the further WH10 CNC boring and milling machine and the turning machine S80i CNC were purchased.
In 2008 we extended the production premises and thus renewed and improved the production technology. In the same year we launched into the market the new hoist`s type with capacity up to 3,200kg.
In 2005, we introduced yet another new range, the third in sequence, of rope hoists, the GHM type, up to the carrying capacity of 25,000 kg, which will be soon extended up to the carrying capacity of 50,000 kg. In 2006-2007, we were going on in renewing of the technology equipment, and the further WH10 CNC boring and milling machine and the turning machine S80i CNC were purchased.
In 2008 we extended the production premises and thus renewed and improved the production technology. In the same year we launched into the market the new hoist`s type with capacity up to 3,200kg.
The present days
At present we continue in further development of our hoists and cranes in order to fill the strongest requirements which our customers expect to be fulfiled. The past as well as current times prove that the company GIGA, spol. s r.o. is a strong competitor on the Czech market and has built up its dominant position among lifting equipment producers.
